The Best Chicken Fried Rice at Home in 30 Mins

Chicken Fried rice has undoubtedly been the star of the takeout menu. A highly ordered dish that is a complete meal in itself, the chicken fried rice is so very popular. Why should you order when you can make the best Chicken Fried Rice at home that too in less than 30 minutes.

Why Chicken Fried Rice?

Rice is a popular meal in Indian cuisine and we enjoy it in so many forms and flavours. From the Biriyani to pulaos to the curd rice and lemon rice we love rice preparations and in fact, the meal is incomplete without rice on the menu. The Chinese Chicken with Fried Rice came in and only added to our rich choices. A chicken fried rice is an easy quick recipe that allows to use the leftover rice in the refrigerator. A mix of chicken and veggies with the soya sauce and vinegar and a dash of chilli sauce if you like that and you have a complete meal ready in minutes. It is also a great way to get your kids to eat veggies happily. 

An Asian dish, fried rice with chicken is a chicken lover’s delight. You can have it by itself or serve it with a chicken Manchurian or garlic chicken and you have a meal that is so easy to put together. Add your daily dose of healthy protein with this delicious Chicken fried rice. Let us make the Chinese Chicken Fried Rice.

Ingredients for this recipe

Chicken Breast Boneless - Chicken Fried Rice
  • Cooked Rice (make at least a day in advance and refrigerate) 2 cups
  • Zorabian Chicken Breast Boneless – 250 gms
  • Eggs 1
  • Vegetables:
    — Bell Peppers (finely chopped) ¼ cup
    — White parts of spring onions ¼ cup
    — Carrot(finely chopped) ¼ cup
    — Beans (finely chopped) ¼ cup
    — Green Peas frozen (optional) ¼ cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper powder 1tsp
  • Soya sauce 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp 
  • Minced or finely chopped garlic 1 tbsp
  • Minced or finely chopped  ginger 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar 1 tsp
  • Sugar ½ tsp
  • Green spring onions 2 tbsp
  • Chopped celery 1 tbsp
  • Sesame oil or any cooking oil 3 tbsp

Method to make Chicken Fried Rice

  1. Take a deep pan and add a tbsp of sesame oil. Cut the chicken into small bite-sized pieces and season with 1tsp soya sauce, salt, ½ tsp pepper. Mix well and add it into the pan and cook till golden brown and keep aside. 
  2. Add the remaining 2 tbsp oil to the pan. Add the minced garlic and ginger and fry till the raw smell disappears. Add the chopped whites of the spring onions, bell peppers, beans, carrots and frozen green peas. Fry well till the veggies are cooked but still retain their crispness. Move the veggies to a side and add in the egg (well-beaten with a pinch of salt and pepper). Scramble the eggs well. 
  3. Mix the eggs and veggies and add in the cooked chicken. Now add the cooked rice and mix well. Add in the 1 tbsp soya sauce 1 tsp vinegar, ½ tsp sugar and adjust the salt. Mix well. 
  4. Garnish with the greens of the spring onions and chopped celery. Serve hot.

Tips for your Chicken Fried Rice Homemade

The advantage of homemade is the flexibility of customizing to individual tastes. If you wish to get your family to eat more veggies you can add cooked broccoli, and sweet corn to your chicken fried rice. You can even add cooked shrimp to your rice fried with chicken.
